Digital systems studio · Owner-operated

Strategy, software, and AI-assisted execution in one working system.

BAED Studios builds modern websites, web applications, and customer-flow tooling for owner-operated and small businesses — then wires them into workflows the owner can actually run. Led hands-on by Ross Burrus.

Scope
Websites, web apps, and internal workflow tooling
Method
Discovery through handoff, documented as you go
Working style
Direct with the owner — no account-manager layer

From idea to operating system

A website is the surface. The system is the point.

  1. 01

    Discovery

    What the business actually does

Map the real customer path, the manual steps, and the parts that break when the owner is busy.

  2. 02

    Architecture

Decide the shape before the pixels

Pages, data, and flows are named up front so the build has a structure to grow into.

  3. 03

    Design

    Editorial surface, interface logic

Typography and layout carry the brand; components carry the behavior. Both stay consistent.

  4. 04

    Build

    Ship in reviewable slices

Accessible, responsive front end plus the workflow pieces that make it operational.

  5. 05

    Handoff

You can run it without me

Written walkthroughs of how to edit, extend, and maintain what was delivered.

Each stage hands the next one something concrete: notes become an architecture, the architecture becomes screens, the screens become a running site or app, and the handoff makes it yours.

Portfolio

Current work, described at its actual stage.

Each entry carries a status chip describing where the work stands today. Nothing here claims adoption, results, or business outcomes, and private concepts are independently prepared rather than commissioned.

  • A workout command center that brings training, recovery, nutrition, and progression into one coherent view.

    • One place to plan sessions, log work, and see progression over time
    • Recovery and nutrition sit alongside training rather than in separate tools
    • Interface designed around the daily routine, not a feature checklist

The public product site is live while the product remains in private beta.

    trainwithtelemetry.com
  • An operations platform for planning, production visibility, traceability, and floor workflows in a bakery environment.

    • Production planning and day-of visibility in a single working view
    • Traceability structured into the workflow rather than added afterward
    • Floor-facing screens written for the people actually doing the work

Implementation foundations and core workflow layers exist. It is not deployed, production-ready, or in active customer use.

  • An early service-business system concept focused on clarifying customer flow, service presentation, and the shape of a future digital experience.

    • Mapping how a customer would find, understand, and request a service
    • Working through how services should be named and presented
    • Establishing what a future digital experience would need to support

Discovery only. Implementation scope and final identity are not yet confirmed.

  • A bilingual-ready barbershop website concept exploring service discovery, booking readiness, trust, and local visibility.

    • Service discovery structured so pricing and time are clear up front
    • Booking-ready layout prepared for a scheduling flow to slot into
    • Bilingual content structure and local visibility considered from the start

Independently prepared private concept. Not represented as commissioned client work.

  • A Spanish-first bilingual salon concept with a presentation-ready service journey and a local appointment-flow simulation.

    • Spanish-first content with an English counterpart, not a bolted-on translation
    • A service journey that reads clearly from first visit to appointment
    • Appointment flow presented as a local simulation of the intended experience

Independently prepared private concept. Not represented as commissioned client work.

Capabilities

Four areas of work, described plainly.

01 / Websites

Modern, fast, accessible marketing sites and presentation-ready business concepts.

  • Responsive editorial layouts built on a real design system
  • Semantic structure, keyboard access, and contrast checked as part of the build
  • Content structured so it can be edited without breaking the layout
  • Bilingual and plain-language treatments where the audience calls for it

Working method

Discover → Define → Build → Verify → Hand Off

The same five steps on every engagement, scaled to the size of the project. Predictable on purpose.

  1. 01

    Discover

Understand the business, the customer path, and the constraints. Nothing gets designed before this is written down.

  2. 02

    Define

Agree on scope, structure, and what success looks like. Anything out of scope is named out loud.

  3. 03

    Build

Design and development move together in reviewable slices, so feedback lands while it is still cheap.

  4. 04

    Verify

Check the real behavior: responsive layout, keyboard access, contrast, edge cases, and the flows that matter most.

  5. 05

    Hand Off

Deliver the work with documentation on how to run, edit, and extend it — without ongoing dependency.

Founder

Led hands-on by Ross Burrus.

BAED Studios is an owner-operated studio. Ross leads each project directly — scoping the work, making the architecture decisions, doing the build, and running the handoff. There is no layer between the person planning the work and the person doing it.

The through-line is systems thinking: a site, an app, and the workflow behind them are treated as one connected thing, so the delivered work fits how the business actually operates rather than how a template assumes it does.

AI is used as a production tool during the build, and every output is reviewed and edited by hand before it reaches a deliverable. It is a method, not a product claim.

Operating principles
  • Direct communication

You talk to the person building it.

  • Written scope

What is included, and what is not, in plain language.

  • Reviewable progress

Work you can see before it is finished.

  • Accessible & responsive

Keyboard access, contrast, and mobile behavior are part of the build.

  • Documented handoff

You keep the ability to run and change it.

Start a project

Tell me what the business needs to do.

The most useful first conversation is a description of the current process — where customers come from, what happens by hand, and what breaks when things get busy. The build follows from that.

How to reach the studio

There is no form and no data collection on this page. Direct contact details are being finalized and will be published here.

What a first conversation covers

  • What the business does today, and who it serves
  • How a customer currently finds, chooses, and books or buys
  • Which steps happen by hand, and which ones break when things get busy
  • What already exists — a site, tools, spreadsheets, or nothing yet
  • What a good outcome would look like in plain words

How the work runs

  • Scope in writing

What is included, and what is not, agreed before work starts.

  • Reviewable progress

You see the work in slices while feedback is still cheap.

  • Accessible & responsive

Keyboard access, contrast, and mobile behavior are part of the build.

  • Documented handoff

You keep the ability to run, edit, and extend the result.

Contact details are being finalized and are intentionally omitted for now.
